Camp Cook

Company Overview

Texas Ski Ranch is a one-of-a-kind action sports complex that has a wide range of opportunities and activities available for customers of all ages. The Ski Ranch opened officially back in 2001 as a wakeboard cable park and boat dealership, from which we have expanded into the complex we are today. We are looking for motivated individuals who have a love for sharing their passion for board sports with customers and who are excited to become part of the TSR family!

Job Summary

Camp TSR is a one-of-a-kind summer camp that requires an energetic, fun, and hard-working staff. We are looking to add a "camp cook" to our team. This person will be responsible for serving our campers with breakfast and lunch each day of the week while they are here for a week of fun at TSR. A love for cooking and attention to detail are a must!

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Working well with children. As the camp cook you will be surrounded by kids on a regular basis. We need someone who can communicate effectively and appropriately with our campers, and who can help enhance the overall camp environment in a positive way.
  • Attention to detail. We do occasionally have children attend our camps that have mild to severe food allergies, so it will be critical that in these cases you are aware of and act accordingly to ensure the health and safety of the people for whom you are preparing meals.
  • Communicating with others effectively. The camp staff is a large staff full of diverse personalities, but at the end of the day it is critical that the unit functions as a team. You will report directly to the Youth Programs director, but need to be able and willing to communicate with all other camp staff members.
  • Punctuality and reliability. This position needs to be filled by someone who will be where they need to be when they say they are going to be there. Campers are on a routine schedule each week, and part of ensuring they have enough time at each activity means eating meals at the scheduled time. Some meals may take longer to prepare than others, so planning ahead and time management are essential skills.

Other Expectations

  • Must be available for 10 weeks of summer camp plus two weeks of staff training
  • Days and hours worked will mostly be 1/2 days- morning to midday each day of the week
  • Flexibility and desire to be part of a team is a must.
