Texas Ski Ranch is a one-of-a-kind action sports complex that has a wide range of opportunities and activities available for customers of all ages. The Ski Ranch opened officially back in 2001 as a wakeboard cable park and boat dealership, from which we have expanded into the complex we are today. We are looking for motivated individuals who have a love for sharing their passion for board sports with customers and who are excited to become part of the TSR family!

Job Summary

Cable Operators are an essential part of our team, and have a large responsibility in making sure that our customers are both enjoying their time as well as doing so in a safe manner. Responsibilities of cable ops are outlined below. In addition to physically operating, this position requires maintaining the overall appearance of the park, general maintenance, and coaching.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensuring customer safety. Keeping a watchful and attentive eye on the water and riders at all times- must be attentive to detail, ability to think and react quickly, and stand firm in implementing outlined safety rules.
  • Running the cable and coaching new customers. We are looking for people who strive to help new customers learn the sport. Experience wakeboarding is preferred, although not required. Attention to detail and high level of focus is a must.
  • Cable Maintenance. Previous experience in an environment involving the use of basic hand tools (wrenches, hammers, etc) and general mechanical understanding is preferred. Daily cable maintenance is required and the responsibility falls to the operators to ensure it's running properly and safely.
  • General park upkeep- maintaining appearance of property even when not under direct supervision. This is an essential part of keeping our property in top condition. It is a team effort and part of every employee's responsibilities to make sure TSR is in excellent condition.
  • Working with others. As part of a team and a family, working well in groups is an essential aspect of any position here at TSR.
  • Ability to interact with families and children. Texas Ski Ranch is first and foremost a family environment, and we want to continue to provide a one of a kind experience for our customers. This is a huge part of the cable operator's position.  
  • Be the face of TSR. Serving as the longest point of contact with customers during their time here, you'll largely serve as the "face" of TSR. Cable ops report to the Outside Operations Manager and play an integral part in the day-to-day occurrences, events, and operations of Texas Ski Ranch.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • No degree required.
  • CPR & First Aid certification completion will be required upon hiring.
  • Lifeguard certification not required but definitely a plus.
